October Journal Quilt

Phew! I'm pleased to say I've managed to finish this month's Journal Quilt early despite hitting a brick wall a few days ago and thinking I would never get it done. I've had it laying on the back of a chair waiting for inspiration to strike and today I decided just to stitch vertical lines onto the top section to suggest a background wall and have done!
~
The bottles are appliqued on and organza and a sheer have been added. The blue bottle is made of an old T-shirt that I had used to mop up paint and dye in my studio.
~
The original inspiration came from a painting I had done of bottles.

I cheated a bit and traced the bottles. Unfortunately I can't think of a title for it. The only thing I could think of was "Gottle a geer!"

And what a beauty she is.
I see since you posted, you have changed the title.
DW has now called it =Bottle-up.

At least you didn't 'lose your bottle' and managed to finish the quilt. I love the painting and how you have interpreted it in fabric. Bottles have such lovely shapes. I find it hard to come up with suitable titles for work too, and can't see why people aren't content with 'Untitled'!However it would get a bit tedious having 'Untitled 1,2,3' and so on. I do like the seasidey cuff on your new header picture.

Thank you Heather and Needlewings. My DH came up with Bottle Up last night which I heard as 'Bottled Up' so I've settled on that now, especially as one bottle appears to be up above the others. I do find titleing really hard sometimes.

I also hate creating titles, the odd one just seems to come naturally.
I love both the painting and the quilt.

I love it when people show the original idea. Lovely!
