Would You Like To Swing on a ..........Rainbow?

~
My DH rang me from work a few minutes ago and told me to go outside and look up and this is what I saw!

Wow! I have never seen an upside-down rainbow before! This beautiful trail of cloud was moving slowly across the sky above our house and this beautiful and very delicate rainbow was slowly creeping along it. Apparently it is rarely seen above the skies in England and is called a circumzenithal arc. Here's some sciency type details!
~
The rainbow eventually crept to the top of the cloud and disappeared. (Yes, I know, it was the cloud moving that made it disappear. ) How fantastic is that? And I'm sure I've now got a design source too! Can youtell I'm excited? LOL Right now I've shown you I must get out to my shed and play with Gesso :o))

Some of us are really blessed then. Being able to see A Rainbow upside down is easy if I stand on my head!! But, in all honesty, I've never seen one like this before..how intruiging.

That's gorgeous! Rainbows are so hard to capture well. If only we could reproduce this effect on fabric......

no I've never seen one upside down before either, and this is the land of rainbows here in the hebrides. Horizontal yes, vertical(ish) yes, cubes of rainbow yes, but never upside down! Nicely caught.
