We're having babies!

It's alright! Don't get excited! For the first time ever (because we've imported them this year) we've got tadpoles in our garden pond. I love having frogs in the garden so I really hope some of the tadpoles survive to maturity. Our pond is not very deep but hopefully some will live.

I think the two adult versions above are actually toads. My DH photographed them yesterday at Belton House. I don't think we should ask what they are doing but you may be able to guess if I say that the one clinging on is a male and the one doing all the work of swimming is the female! Sound familiar? lol

What a fantastic shot, well done to your DH. We've got tadpoles in our pond but we've also got a lot of fish, so I don't know if we'll keep them this year.

I hope you do get some frogs. I don't know what you call them in Britain, but we call young frogs spring peepers here. You can hear them croaking away for all they're worth during the evening in more rural areas.

on our local tv there was a call to volunteers last weekend to The Royal Park Edinburgh to rescue the toads from one side of the road to the water on the other side so they could get on with business safely. Your photo is brilliant! Judy xxx

That's a lovely photo Julie, whatever they are doing. I also think your box above turned out really well. I prefer seeing them on the blogs as you get a much clearer picture don't yoy?
