Alnwick Garden 2

Posted by Picasa
Above the cascade you come to the walled garden which has many garden rooms within it.

These are espalier apples growing round various parts of the walled garden.

One of several beautiful peonies.

This pergola will eventually be covered by the climbers growing up it.

Julie - I think these really are my favourite photos yet on your blog - wonderful!! I have a desperate need to go to Alnwick Gardens RIGHT NOW!!!!!!

One thing that has really struck me in our National Trust wanderings is the serenity and beauty evoked by the symmetry and 'simplicity' of these places. Also I really need to walk past the squirty water things :)

Love the montage at the top, I don't remember the dove cote , bit I did enjoy making a sketch of exactly that view of the water pool and the channel.
Thank you for sharing all of these.
