Bertie's little adventure

"We're all going on a lovely holiday!" (With apologies to Cliff Richard!) As you can see Bertie, Mungo and Maud settled themselves into the back of the car for their trip to Pickering last week.

We stayed in a lovely
log cabin about 2 miles north of Pickering looking down on the North York Moors Railway line. We have stayed there before and it's a wonderful location surrounded by trees, woodland walks straight out of the door and wildbirds feeding on the birdtable and in the trees. We sat in bed one morning drinking a morning cuppa and watching a woodpecker feeding on larch cones out of the window.

The gang checked out the view from the window - trainspotting!

"This is the life!"

Part way through the week Bertie had a visit from Percival who lives with Mrs Nesbitt and is a friend of Edmund the Explorer. Percival brought Mrs Nesbitt with him (or should that be the other way round?) Hmm! I think Percival looks a little like Bob T Bear. What do you think?

Bertie introduced Percival to the Pink Gang and they all had a lovely natter. Percival told them that he is hoping to go to Norway with Edmund Nesbitt. Bertie was a bit worried - he doesn't like the cold.

The highlight of Bertie's week was a ride on the lovely North York Moors Steam Railway. Bertie couldn't wait for the ticket office to open

Bertie explored the station while he was waiting for the train.

When the train came in he explored the carriage too!

"Oops! How do I get down?!"

"Are we going yet?"

"Wa hay! This is fun! "

Sssh,Bertie! Don't wake daddy up!

When Bertie got back to the cabin Mungo and Maud couldn't wait to show him what they had been doing all day

Ta dah! "Look at us! We can do the splits!!!!"

"Wow! That's amazing, guys! Now, let me tell you about my day!"

Lovely post Julie... sounds like you've all had lots of fun! Poor Mungo and Maud though - that looked painful!Never realised they were so agile.

I have to say, I don't know how the Pink Gang got into that position! It certainly wasn't my doing - must have been one of those naughty men!

So great to see Bertie and the girls having such a lovely holiday! I'm most impressed with your photo of the woodpecker!

Poor Mr Mixed Media looks worn out by all that excitement :)

I'm amazed at how bendy the girls are - I hope they warmed up properly - wouldn't want to pull any muscles!!

What a great time you all had, the cabin looks wonderful, wouldn't mind a stay there myself.
Poor Bertie looks exhausted with all that excitement, or is it the shock of seeing the girls in that position!!
Anyway I'm sure he'll have plenty of time to catch up now you're back.
Many thanks for such a lovely holiday diary post, made my evening!!
