Terracotta Army

We have had a trip to the Big Smoke (otherwise known as London) today with our favourite local coach company to visit the British Museum to view the exhibition of China's Terracotta Army. The exhibition was amazing but, unfortunately photography was not allowed so I can only give you a link to the wikipedia entry. I will be posting some pics of the rest of the museum (as much as we had time for ) but I will come back to that tomorrow as it's getting quite late and I am tired. See you tomorrow! (I've just spotted my DH staring up at the roof in the pic above)

We went to see the warriors back in October - took the kids. Which was nice, actually, though I think I could have looked at the exhibit for a bit longer if they hadn't been with us, but I think it made an impression on them. Thought the exhibit was good, though. And we had a brief poke around the Egyptian section & the big gates, which I love, though with a four year old, you don't spend as long as you might otherwise.

Hi Julie
Glad you had a great day, I really must go, I only live 15 mins walk from the station and it's a direct line to Waterloo!! No excuse, except the cost!!
When the were last in London I think there was just one small trench, this looks amazing!!

Shame you couldn't take photos but the Wikipedia link is fascinating. I had no idea they were so big or that there were so many of them and all different!

I love that glass roof too!!

It sounds like a fab day out, I'd love to see them as they're amazing.

Thanks for the comment on my blog, I've just been told its a faulty chip so it's being collected today. Shame it can't be done as quickly as yours!!

Love your work by the way, I've written a note to look through your blog properly when I get my baby back!!!

My oldest son saw these terra cotta figures as an elementary school student when we lived in Portland, Oregon and they made quite an impression on him. He still has the little clay replica of one of the statues he bought at the time. I'm glad you were able to see the exhibit.
