Phew! I feel like I've been in a rugby scrum! (But without the pleasure of the rugby players *LOL*) The NEC was packed today, both inside and out. There were about 7 or 8 exhibitions going on over there and the roads were jammed with traffic. Our lovely coach driver did a detour to get around a traffic jam and saved us at least an hours' queue. Clever chap! I think he must have influence with the West Midlands Traffic Police who held the traffic up so we could proceed round a roundabout. Actually they were escorting a convoy of Incident Support units and about 10 or 12 fire engines. They weren't in any hurry but I don't have a clue where they were going.
Anyway, to the exhibition. It's fair to say that many of the stalls were catering for card makers but, against all the odds :)), I did manage to buy a respectable amount of merchandise! He he don't tell DH! I was impressed with a company called Purple Elephant who come from Thailand and sell embellishments and paper. Their products were all packaged with a piece of handmade paper which, of course, I will make use of.
I have to say, I succumbed to a book! Well, if you've got a soldering tool you need to know how to use it, don't you?
The rest of my stash was kunin felt, metallic machine threads, wooden buttons, alphabet beads, fabric embellishments and some copper shavings. I also bought a reel of decorative wire which I hope to weave through (not personally! I'm not that small!)
What did I forget? Oh yes, some Liquitex painting mediums. I'm really happy with my haul as it should keep me going with my ATCs for ages. Or at least till my next outing!
Did I say it was packed? Soooooo many people! Fortunately I'd taken my lunch with me but the only place to eat it was sitting on the floor. The trick was getting back up again! While I was having a break in the afternoon I saw this lady getting into the spirit of things.
She was a bit late for Halloween though.
I'm now slumped in front of the telly with a sherry and a TV dinner for one. Ciao!

Ooh you managed to pick up some lovely bits. I like the Purple Elephant stuff and good choice of book you have there, you'll enjoy that one. What am I drawn to, of course, is the wire mesh - very interesting. Looks like chicken wire, but coloured. Me thinks I am going to have to look into this :)
