Looking Up, Looking Down, Looking Through

Metalwork in Bruges

Metalwork in Tallinn

Mirrored kaleidoscope onboard.

I am pretty certain that this is a white-tailed eagle that we saw at about 5 o'clock in the morning when we got up to enjoy the ship's prgoress at dawn through the archipeligoes approaching Stockholm.  A rare treat.

Looking Down.........

So much variety and design potential in these manhole covers.

Looking through......

Lace 'wallpaper' in a restaurant in Bruges seen through the window and pillars reflected from a building opposite.

The bottle top work of Jorge Castro Gomez seen in Bruges. (amended from Copenhagen 16 November 2012)

A bead shop in Helsinki, shame it was closed.....

Tourist stalls in St Petersburg. We weren't tempted.

Beautiful old streets and buildings in Tallinn.

Oslo above.

A glimpse of a fascinating building in St Petersburg.

An interesting doorway in the townwalls in Tallinn.

Wow brilliant photo's Julie. Love all the metal work. Thanks for sharing them sometimes it can be slow and frustrating loading them onto blogger.

Oh wow! I'm exhausted, all that inspiration, no wonder you took so many pics, they'll keep you busy for years. Love the manhole covers. And the lace wall paper is perfect for what I'm working on at the moment.

Heather, you and me both! I was wishing I'd got some silk and crayons with me (I did have but I'd left them on the ship, silly girl).

My brother and siter in law have just been on a Baltic cruise. I wonder if it was the same one? Listing the places they went made me want to do one too. You have certainly really seen everywhere with your wonderful artistic eye. These photographs are just the sorts of things I'd be looking at and I have really enjoyed them. What a magical Birthday treat.

Definitely on my wish list of places to visit. There is some beautiful art scattered around this place but my favourite has to be those moons and the drain cover with the line-drawing people. Fabulous.
