Kate Dowty's work inspired by the coast and country of the Jurassic Coast.
It Happens: Heavy metal - featuring the work of Gillian Arkley, Rose Stanley, Chris Dixon and Anne Tuck. If you follow the link and scroll to the bottom there are links to all the It Happens: Heavy Metal pieces.
A glimpse of a corner of Pauline Burbidge's Retrospective.
I was very impressed by the work of the Graduate Showcase.
Above is the work of Sarah Stewart who graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College and who won the BA Bursary Award from Twisted Thread at Festival.
I was very attracted to the work of Katie Allerston above, especially the transparent layering and the textures in the barklike layers.
I had a lovely chat with Nadine Reid who made the pieces above and it was interesting to see her samples too.
I do not have the details of the artist above.
Enough! I hear you cry! A little more soon.....

All fantastic and inspirational!
I really liked Pauline Burbidges new pieces but my absolute fav was Kate Dowty's Seascape. Wish I could create something like that......
Glad you enjoyed the show my sweet.
Would agree with all of that, though I didn't leave myself enough time on Sunday to see the graduate showcase properly....
Lovely Julie. Kate Dowty's work was beautiful and it was so good to see how she has developed her work, and also to see how Pauline Burbidge's work has changed over the years. I have to admit that I missed the Graduate showcase.
Oh no! Never enough! A wonderful selection of amazing skills and such variety. I don't think I shall ever bother to leave home to see the FOQ - I'll just sit back and wait to read your blog!
I loved the Jurassic Coast scene that was gorgeous. - thanks for all the pictures - I must have missed some of these displays - just too much to see.
Loving seeing everything you share as I wasn't able to get there this year. It makes me all the more determined to get there next year. Looking forward to seeing you. Have a lovely weekend Julie and DH xx
Great show but did not have time to see all of it.
Hi Julie, I am trying to leave a comment on your blog for almost a week now, but it stops everytime I wanted to post it. I just want to tell you that I was so pleased with the pictures of the Festival of Quilts, because I couldn't go this year. Thank you for taking the time to post them.
