This, believe it or not (you probably do) is my wet working studio/shed. How did it get in this state........again? I have had a serious case of open-the-door-and-throw-it-in-itis over the winter! Heather aka The Ragged Old Blogger has made a sterling effort and sorted out her workroom and reminded me that mine is destined for a remake next week. Don't be fooled by that empty square foot on the table. It was only there because I took some books indoors.

The drawer press in the photo above is going to have to be emptied so that I can move it to another corner (currently occupied by an obsolete hi-fi cabinet storing back issues of Leisure Painter and The Artist) to make way for these!
The cavalry is coming! (courtesy of Homebase/Argos - no affiliation). Assuming they deliver on Monday as requested. Fingers crossed. I hope the easy assembly statement is true if not my DH is not going to be happy......or maybe I should be a modern girl and get the hammer out myself??? Nah!!!

The floor space you can see is about all there is all round the table and is in danger of taking over the entire space so that soon I won't even be able to walk round the room.

The new shelves are going to go along the one wall I haven't photographed but first I am going to have to virtually empty the whole shed before I can get them in! Oh dear, I feel very faint all of a sudden. So much work and you can tell I'm not the world's best organiser, can't you? I'm going to lose at least a week's creating time to sort this mess out but I can't do any dyeing or painting until I do, so I shall just have to bite the bullet. Here's praying for dry weather so I can shove half of it outside to give me some room to work. If anyone knows any spring cleaning fairies who could help and stop me from turning round at the door and running away send them along please! If you don't hear from me for a few days you'll know I've drowned under a sea of stash. What a way to go! :o)
PS I am actually cringing at having to admit to this unholy mess! Embarrassed squirming going on here! lol

I think that a messy studio is a happy studio!
My studio at least has some company and I too have been thinking I must get it properly organised again - it's reached the stage where it's well-night impossible to work in!
Hi Julie
at least most of yours is in the shed, mines in the spare room, Hope no one wants to stay for a while!!! We downsized think i need bigger again LOL!!
have a good week, will send out a search party if we dont hear from you!
You have my sympathy, I spent four days over Easter clearing mine when it be came apparent that I would never get in there again if I didn't do something! Good luck with the shelves.
You make me feel soooooo much better now, I am not alone. My space is overflowing, I just wish I could be inspired to get it sorted.
Hi Julie
Good luck with the sorting - just think of all the painting/dyeing you can do once finished! A week to sort then lots of play time. Angela
It's not good for me to see someone else's studio mess - it just gives me a justification for leaving mine in a muddle!
I'd feel very at home in your room Julie. You are braver than I am - I only show mine when it's been tidied. Hope all your plans can be carried out without too much effort and that the assembly of the new shelves doesn't threaten the peace and harmony of your domestic haven.
I think you are very brave showing us your studio... I have a mess that would rival yours and wouldn't dare show everyone! It's a sign of a creative mind... at least that's what I tell myself.
I've come to the conclusion there is a rogue gene in all of us who are creative (well that's my excuse for the state of mine)
How mahy times do I have to tell you- it isn't a mess it's a creative environment. LOL!!!
Hey I was going to ask for a tour of your crafty place when I was up there but kept forgetting to ask. Hehe!
At least it shows that you have been making use of your studio. Weather here has been glorious today so hope it was the same for you to get some of your things outsude.
Very brave of you - I'm WAY too embarrassed to show anyone my studio space.
Hi Julie! Tee Hee what a studio! Fabulous, only the most creative people are entitled to have a studio so full of what is clearly organised goodies! Tee Hee. Mine looked just the same about a month back and I did request the cleaning fairies but no show I'm afraid. Good Luck. PS. Mine is still tidy!! Can you believe that? I'm clearly not being as creative as I should be. xx
I'm beginning to think that all our studios look alike :-) messy studio = creative mind?
I love looking at studio's and it shows you are busy working if they are messy!
I would love a studio like yours.x
This is as nothing compared with mess I have to sort. I have flat surfaces created by putting cutting mats on top of piles of rubbish.....
Oh wow, Julie, I loved seeing your "mess" - I wish I had all that space to mess up! Mine is a second bedroom where I have to put it all away when guests are looming, so that prompts a tidy up a bit more often than I really like, afterwards I can never find anything ... yours is a wonderful mess!!
Thanks for all your comments on my blog, and I look forward to seeing many mosaics to come!!!
Have a happy creative week, Carolyn :o)
